Parking

There is plenty of parking available at Eisenhower Park but you must arrive no later than 7:00am to park here.  The overflow parking is at the host hotel, Marriot Hotel located at 101 James Doolittle Blvd, Uniondale, NY 11553.  This location is located about 1 mile away from the start.  Carpooling and early arrival are highly recommended.

Shuttles are not necessary since there is on-site parking, but to avoid the traffic back up, you may consider purchasing shuttles tickets. Shuttle ticket information will be availble as we get closer to the event.

Getting there by Train

If you take the train from NY then take the Long Island Railroad to Westbury Station.  Right at the station there are plenty of taxi services to the start or you can walk/jog to the start line at the noth end of Eisenhower Park which is about 1 mile away from the station.  There is 1 train from the city which will get you there before the start.  Be certain to check out the train schedule before the race to see what which train will be best for you and make sure you arrive no later than 7:15am to make sure you have enough time to walk or ride to the start, drop off your coat check and get reasy for the run.  To check out the train schedule check out the MTA website.

Diva's Coat Check (Gear Check)

All participants may check their gear at the Finish in the Runners' Gear Check Area which is located just a short jog away from the Start line at Eisenhower Park. Gear check drop off will be open from 6:30am to 7:45am. The Diva Backpack given to you at Packet Pick Up should be used as your Diva Gear Bag. Tear the gear check tag from your bib number and attach with a zip tie supplied. To claim your Diva Bag show your bib number to the Coat Check volunteer. Both the bib number and the number attached to the Diva Gear Bag must match. ALL BAGS MUST BE CLAIMED BY 12:00 P.M. Bags not claimed after 14 days will be disposed. Please do not leave valuables, cash or jewelry in the Diva Bags. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Start Corrals

The corral system assures a smooth and safe start by lining up participants of similar pace in the same area. Participants with a time of 1:35 or faster in the half marathon distance, who can send proof prior to September 20, 2012, will qualify for the seeded corral up front.  Other participants are asked that they line up according to their estimated finishing time. Large signs indicating these paces will be displayed through the start line corral. Please be courteous and look for the area that fits your pace best. Participants will be able to enter their corral beginning at 7:00 am. Only participants are allowed in the start line corrals. This will make your start quicker and your run more enjoyable. 

To apply for the seeded corral, please email proof of a time of 1:35 or faster in a half marathon race to us prior to September 20, 2012.

Start Line

Eisenhower Park

The Start Line is located at Eisenhower Park on Park Road just east of the Park’s north entrance on Merrick.  The Start Line is approximately 1 mile from our host hotel and opens at 7:00 am on race day. There will be water and Gatorade sports drink. There will be plenty of port-o-lets situated throughout the start line area.

Finish Line & Finish Line Dance Party

This is a loop course so the finish line is right back to Eisenhower Park at one of the park's meadows right off of Park Blvd., but closer to the park's south entrance off of Hempstead Turnpike.  Once you finish running, let us pamper you like a Diva! As you cross the finish line loose yourself in the feeling of accomplishment. A handsome firefighter will crown your accomplishment with the most Diva like medal out there, toast it with a glass of champagne and celebrate it with a rose…because you are beautiful and powerful and you have just done something not many people can do!!! You are a running Diva…relish the feeling and the moment with all your Diva sisters and friends. And as you begin to come down from that heavenly feeling of accomplishment, dance the day away at the Dance hall where handsome young men from the local dance schools will sweep you off your feet and glide with you at the Finish Line Dance Hall. Today is your day Miss Diva, Enjoy, you are a QUEEN for a day and everyone is looking at you!!!!

Age Groups and Awards

 

Awards will be given to top 3 Overall Female participants and custom medals will be awarded 3 deep in each age group division of the Divas Half Marathon® and Girl's 5K as follows:

Female Awards in the following categories for the half marathon and the 5K:

• Ages 14 & Under 
• Ages 15-19
• Ages 20-24
• Ages 25-29
• Ages 30-34
• Ages 35-39
• Ages 40-44
• Ages 45-49
• Ages 50-54
• Ages 55-59
• Ages 60-64
• Ages 65-69
• Ages 70 -74
• Ages 75+
• Ageless (shhh, we will not tell anyone how old you are)

Male Participants are only eligible for awards in the 5K and these will only be awarded as top 3 overall.

The Awards Ceremony for top 3 and Award Collection for Age Groups will take place at 11:00 am at the Finish Line Party. If you are not present to collect your award and you want us to send you the award by mail, please download the Awards Claim Form and send it in with the appropriate fee for shipping and handling. Awards will only be available within 4 months of the event. Please note that awards are issued based on chip time.

Long Island Women's Challenge

Calling all Long Island Divas to participate in this Challenge. The Runner's Edge Women's 5K Run/Walk is taking place on July 16, 2011 and the Divas Half Marathon® has teamed up with them to create the Long Island Running Diva Award in the Open and Master categories. The top open and master women with the combined lowest time from the Runner's Edge Women's 5K Run/Walk and the Divas Half Marathon® at Long Island will be crowned the top Diva during the awards ceremony on October 2nd. For more information on the Runner's Edge Women's 5K Run/Walk, visit them today.
