Meet Lisa Dorfman MS, RD, CSSD, LMHC
We are very pleased to introduce all our divas to our "Running Nutritionist", Lisa Dorfman. Lisa will be giving us nutrition tips throughout the year, specifically geared towards women. Lisa, along with our Diva trainer, Kendrick, will also host our Diva Lounge at all Health and Fitness Boutiques. Lisa is will also post tips and advice in the Run Like a Diva Facebook page so follow her and enjoy a great running season.

Lisa’s philosophy on running and nutrition is: “A good daily diet and run empowers every woman with a feeling of strength and accomplishment; helps conquer the stress associated with juggling daily chores, family responsibilities & work; and helps manage the emotional balance of maintaining intimate relationships with loved ones.” |
Lisa has been one of America’s leading nutritionists for more than two decades. As Director of Sports Medicine Nutrition & Performance at the University of Miami, she consults with the Hurricanes athletic teams & is Director for the new UM Graduate Degree program, Nutrition for Health & Human Performance in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Sciences commencing in Fall 2011.
Lisa is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, Board Certified Professional Counselor, Diplomat of The American Psychotherapy Association, Certified ISAK anthropometrist, USAT&F & USA Triathlon coach. She is personal nutritionist for many professional athletes, including those in the NFL, MLB, PGA, USTA, US Boxing, USA Taekwondo & was the US Sailing Olympic and Paralympics Team Nutritionist. In 2008, Lisa was selected to be a member of the inaugural USOC Sport Dietitian Network to assist the United States Olympic Committee in providing nutrition coaching services to the National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) and Olympic/Paralympic Teams. She is an active professional member of The American Dietetic Association (ADA), The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Sports, Wellness & Cardiovascular Nutritionists (SCAN), Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), American Society of Nutrition (ACN), Dietitians in Functional & Integrative Medicine (DIFM) & Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP) & the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP.)
As a media spokesperson, Lisa has appeared on dozens of TV, radio and print campaigns worldwide. She has been a featured expert on 20/20, Dateline, Good Morning America, FOX News, CNN, MSNBC and ESPN, NBC, CBS & ABC affiliates and has been featured in numerous publications including USA Today, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Shape, Glamour, Marie Claire, Woman’s Day, Muscle and FitnessHers, Runners World and Running Times magazines. Lisa is Nutrition Columnist for Miami Sports Magazine, former Nutrition editor for SoBeFit Magazine, the author of several book chapters and six books including her latest two, Performance Nutrition for Football (Momentum Media, 2010) & The Reunion Diet: Lose Weight and Look Great at Your Reunion and Beyond (2010).
Known nationally as “The Running Nutritionist™,” Lisa is a competitive runner and triathlete who has competed in more than 34 marathons (PR 2:52:32), IronmanUSA Lake Placid, dozens of half marathons and 1/2 ironmans, and hundreds of running and multisport races worldwide. In 2004, she competed for the United States on Team USA at the World Long Distance Duathlon Championships. Lisa resides in Miami, Florida with her husband Bob of 28 years and three children, Rebecca 24 (UF ’09), Danielle 22 (Hopkins ’11) and Joseph 20 (Columbia ’13).
